As we have explained before, there are two main methods called FUE and FUT for performing hair transplant. In both of them you adhere to take care after hair transplant surgery. After the hair transplant surgery usually some surgeons prefer to bandage your hair very carefully and some other surgeons does not prefer to bandage.

Anyway, at the same day you will be discharged and usually go back to home without any bandage. But keep in mind the Postoperative care is really important. Actually Postoperative care can guarantee the favorable result.

In the Postoperative cares, it is common to have some swelling on transplanted site. Using some Oral steroids for 3–5 days can decrees it as well as wearing the head-band immediately after the hair transplant surgery can be useful to minimize the swelling and it prevents the swelling comes down on the face and makes a puffy appearance.

The hair transplant surgery is performed under local anesthesia. So this cosmetic surgery is pain-free. But after that, when the effect of anesthesia has lost, you may feel some pain. Because of that your doctor prescribes some painkillers like ibuprofens and antibiotics to make your pain bearable and prevent any infections.

Some lotions like Minoxidil lotions can help to stimulate hair growth. So it is recommended in the Postoperative care’s period, when shampooing has begun, in the men is used 5% Minoxidil lotion and in female is applied 2% Minoxidil lotion. Therefore please pay attention to the correct use of prescribed medications and recommended instructions by your doctor in the Postoperative care’s period.

The 2^nd or 3^rd postoperative day you can take shower and wash your hair with mild shampoo. Don’t use other stronger shampoo and hair oils.

In the postoperative care’s period, after 3 weeks, you should be careful while combing the hair in the transplanted area. Notice that you shouldn’t strike a brush or comb against the transplanted grafts. If you don’t care, maybe you damage the new transplanted grafts.

In the Postoperative care’s period, you should avoid to wear any clothes like T-shirts or pullovers as well as helmets which you have to take them off over the head.

In the Postoperative care’s period, don’t exercise for a week.

Three weeks after taking care you will be able to return to your work and your daily routine.

Please be serious and emphasize to the Postoperative care and continue doctor’s recommendations for a period of two to six months to increase the earlier growth of the transplanted hair.
